Hi friend,
Writing to you while my toddler is (finally!) napping, and I had this major
"aha" moment I just have to share.
As a fellow content creator and mama, I know our days are packed with half-written blog posts, newsletter drafts, and
oh yeah - those 100 open tabs about toddler activities we're definitely going to try... someday.
But here's what hit me recently: My stress isn't coming from having too much on my plate (though let's be real, we all do!).
It's coming from all those unfinished things that keep swimming around in my head.
Let me be super real with you.
Last week, I had three blog posts started, a newsletter outline sitting in my drafts, and an caption that just needed that perfect closing line.
Not to mention the half-organized playroom situation!
Each time I opened my laptop or walked past that playroom, these unfinished tasks would wave at me like an overenthusiastic neighbor - impossible to ignore!
What changed everything for me wasn't working more hours (because, welcome, toddler mom life!).
It was simply deciding to finish what I'd already started before jumping into anything new.
So here's my super simple "mom-friendly" approach:
During nap time, I focus on finishing ONE thing completely
No starting new projects until I wrap up an old one
Setting smaller goals (like writing one newsletter section instead of planning whole month of content)
The result?
I'm actually getting more done, feeling less scattered, and - bonus!
My content is better because I'm fully finishing my thoughts instead of jumping between half-done pieces.
Want to try this with me?
Pick ONE thing right now.
Maybe it's that blog post draft that's been sitting in your folder for weeks, or that newsletter welcome sequence you started but never finished.
Just one thing - and finish it before starting anything new.
Can't wait to hear what you finish first!
Coffee cheers,
