Hey there!
Ever had one of those mornings where you just want to hide under the covers?
Well, grab a cup of coffee (or your favorite morning drink) and let me tell you about my recent wake-up call - literally!
It's early morning, and I'm feeling about as energetic as a sloth on a lazy Sunday.
That feeling, right? But I had made this promise to myself - rain or shine, I was going to run. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy getting out of that cozy bed!
Now, let's rewind a bit.
When I first started running, I was always waiting for that perfect day.
You know, blue skies, birds singing, and me feeling like I could conquer the world.
Those days are as rare as finding a four-leaf clover!
I realized something had to change.
So, I made this super simple plan: run three times a week, no matter what.
At first, it was tough. Some days, I felt like I was running through mud with weights on my feet.
But here's the cool part - the more I stuck to my plan, the easier it got.
Running became like brushing my teeth or making my bed.
I didn't think about it, I just did it.
And you know what's really awesome? The more I ran, the less I needed to feel all pumped up to do it.
I just did it because, well, that's what I do on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
This got me thinking about other stuff in my life.
How many times have you put off doing something because you weren't in the mood? Or maybe you were waiting for some magical burst of energy? I know I've done that a lot too!
But life doesn't work that way. If we only did things when we felt like it, we'd miss out on so much!
So, I started applying this to other parts of my life.
Writing, studying, even calling my mom (sorry, mom!) - I set specific times for these things.
Now, I'm not gonna lie to you.
Some days, I still want to skip my run or put off writing my blogs and newsletter.
But I've learned this super important lesson: showing up is half the battle. Once I start, it's usually not as bad as I thought it would be.
So, here's what I want you to take away from my little story: don't wait for the perfect moment.
Because it might never come! Instead, make a simple plan and stick to it.
Turn it into a habit. Before you know it, you'll be making progress without even thinking about it.
And of course, on those rare days when you do feel super inspired? That's just a bonus!
Enjoy it, but don't rely on it. Your habits will carry you through, rain or shine.
Now, let's talk about how you can make this work for you.
First, pick something you want to do regularly.
It could be anything - exercising, reading, learning a new skill.
Then, choose specific days and times for it.
Start small - maybe just 10 minutes a day. The key is to be consistent.
Next, prepare everything you need in advance.
For me, I lay out my running clothes the night before. This makes it easier to get started when I'm feeling lazy.
Finally, don't beat yourself up if you miss a day.
Just get back on track the next day. Remember, this is about your progress, not perfection.
So, what's the one thing you've been putting off? Why not start today?
Make a simple plan, set a specific time, and just show up. You might surprise yourself with what you can achieve!
I'd love to hear how it goes for you.

Until next time, keep showing up for yourself!
